ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

ACADEMICALLY

Our well-rounded, rigorous learning experience, coupled with a biblical worldview encourages discovery and exploration of their passions through engaging curriculum and exemplary educators. To ensure LCA is an academic fit, students must meet the following criteria

+ Pre-K3 through First Grade

Students applying for Pre-K3 through first grade will be asked to come to LCA and will be screened to assess language and literacy development, number concepts, motor skills, and social development. Students must score at or above the developmental level.

Parents will be notified of the screening results and whether the student is eligible for the next step in the admissions process.

Students must reach the minimum age requirement by September 1: 3 years of age for PreK3, 4 years of age for PreK4, and 5 years of age for Kindergarten.

+ Grades 2-5:

Students applying for grades 2-5 must submit the results of a nationally-normed standard test taken within the last twelve months. Students must score above average or at grade level on the nationally-normed standardized test or at the “meets” or “exceeds” level of the CRCT. In addition, in most cases, LCA will conduct testing in math and language arts to ensure that the student is prepared to succeed in our curriculum. Students must all submit grade reports to show evidence of an academic history in which he or she has recorded above-average grades consistently. A testing date will be scheduled after the application is complete and has been preliminarily reviewed by the Admissions Committee.

+ Grades 6-12:

For students entering grades 6-12, we require the results of a nationally normed standard test taken within the last twelve months. We are seeking students who score a minimum of the 50th percentile in all categories. In addition, if the student has taken the CRCT, they must score at the “meets” or “exceeds” level in all areas. In some cases, we may also conduct our own testing to determine admissibility or placement.

There is a $50 fee due at the time of testing, payable by check or cash.

Parents will be notified if the student is eligible for the next step in the admissions process.

SPIRITUALLY

LCA is a discipleship-style school. As such, there is a requirement for at least one parent in every home to give evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the tenets of the LCA Statement of Faith. Families are expected to be active and consistent attendees of a local church. Students’ salvation is not required for acceptance, but high school students should have a similar value and belief system.

SOCIALLY

Students must provide evidence of a pattern of behavior and school attendance consistent with LCA’s overall mission and objectives. Loganville Christian Academy is a religious institution providing an education in a distinctly Christian environment, and it believes that its biblical role is to work in conjunction with the home to mold students to be Christ-like, as defined by biblical criteria. If the student’s conduct or the home environment is not in harmony with the school’s doctrinal beliefs and biblical lifestyle requirements as stated in the Statement of Faith, the school reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission of an applicant or to discontinue enrollment of a student.

ADMISSIONS CHECKLIST

+ Application

Applications for all grades should be submitted via the online application. In order for an application to be submitted, the $175 non-refundable application fee for the first student and $20 for each additional student will be paid online when you have completed the application. As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide an email address for a pastor or church leader as well as teacher email addresses (classroom teacher for Pre-K3 through 5th grades and math and English teachers for 6th–12th grades). Please be prepared with these email addresses as obtaining these recommendations is a component of the application process. In addition, you will need to request records from your child’s current school.

Once the online application is submitted with all supplemental forms and payment of the $175 application fee is received, the application is sent to the Admissions Committee for review. The committee recommendation drives the next step of the process, i.e., additional testing, parent interview, student interview, etc.

APPLICATION DEADLINE Applications are accepted as long as there are class openings. Students are permitted enrollment for the current school year until February 1. This policy does not apply to new students relocating to the area.

2025-26 applications are open and offers of admission will be sent in February.

+ Testing

Students applying for grades PreK3 through 5th grade are evaluated to assess language and literacy development, number concepts, motor skills, and social development. A completed application with all supplemental forms and the $175 application fee must be received before a testing time will be scheduled.

Students applying for grades 6–12 must submit the results of a nationally-normed standardized test taken within the last twelve months. If current testing records are not available or if it is determined that additional information is needed for assessment or placement, a testing date will be scheduled.

A $50 testing fee per student is due prior to testing.

+ Interview

After the application is complete and any necessary testing has been completed, the Admissions Committee will determine if an interview will be granted. A complete application means that all required records, supplemental forms, and recommendations, as well as an application and fee, have been received. The Admissions office will call to schedule the interview. Both parents and all 3rd-12th grade applicants are required for the interview. Applicants entering Pre-K3 through 2nd grades are not expected to attend the interview.

Families will meet with the respective principal in the Lower or Upper School departments at LCA, depending on the grade the student is entering. Any needs based financial assistance applications should be submitted prior to the family interview.

Families should be prepared to schedule their interview prior to July 29 in order to begin school by our start date.

+ Acceptance

Acceptance of the applicant is based on review of the application, test scores, transcript or report card grades, the pastor/church leader questionnaire, teacher recommendation, and interview results if applicable. Loganville Christian Academy does not discriminate against any person based on sex, race, age, or national origin.

We begin accepting applications in October for the upcoming school year. Applications are reviewed on a rolling-admissions basis as long as there is space in the grade level. A waitlist will be maintained when a grade level becomes full.

Families will receive written notification of an admission decision. Once acceptance is granted, a student is not considered enrolled until the online enrollment packet is submitted. LCA operates under a Continuous Enrollment program. Moving forward, your student will be enrolled at LCA until they graduate, withdarw, or are dismissed.

+ Required Documents

Before a student can begin school at LCA, there are documents that are required to be on file.

Immunization – Form 3231 (revised 2014) – State law prohibits a student from beginning classes until Form 3231 has been received by the school. It may be obtained from your family physician or local health department.
Copy of the student’s birth certificate.

+ Orientation

New Parent Orientation is an event designed to help families transition to LCA. Orientation dates are scheduled throughout the summer and one parent from each new family is required to attend.

ENROLLMENT

Enrollment forms are sent to admitted students immediately after acceptance. The student is not officially enrolled at Loganville Christian Academy until the enrollment forms and financial contract are received.
